You have indicated that you frequently get migraines with aura and live in a state where we do not offer online doctor consultations.
- POPs are recommended because combined oral contraceptives can increase the chance of blood clots for people that get migraines with aura.
- POPs contain only 1 hormone, progestin, instead of the traditional combined oral contraceptive that contains both progestin and estrogen.
- POPs should be taken at the same time each day, make sure to use condoms/abstain from sex for 2 days if POP is taken ≥3 hours late.
